Nothing beats a weekend ride out with some ladies on two wheels, don’t you agree? We recently joined a women’s ride with the Specialized Concept Store in Petaling Jaya held in conjunction with La Course by Le Tour de France.
La Course is an elite women’s professional one-day road race that is now part of the UCI Women’s World Tour starting 2016 and is proudly sponsored by Specialized. The race took place in Paris on the 24th July where 20 women’s cycling teams competed for ultimate glory.
The morning bright and early with the presence of women and men who also showed up to support the ride in numbers. The ride started from the concept store in Boulevard, Petaling Jaya before going around Saujana in Subang, led by staff Mike and Andrew.
Those who opted for a shorter 30km ride made their way back, while the rest of us continued on a 60km ride towards the Guthrie Corridor Highway before returning to the store. All levels of riders were welcomed, seen on mountain bikes and road bikes of various brands.
Specialized also provided a support team travelling in a van to provide mechanical support, as well as drinks and a photographer to capture moments of the day. Indeed, Specialized’s supportive spirit towards women’s road racing were well reflected.
All ladies who completed the ride were presented with an exclusive Specialized’s La Course cap to commemorate the ride. For future rides and events, follow Specialized Concept Store PJ on Facebook.
