Shimano released a New Deore on the 1st of March, the M610 series. It promises to bring the best value for components with trickle down technologies like Shadow RD+ and Ice-Technologies.
Deore is for everyone, there are various combinations fit for your riding style. By swapping around the types of gear combinations, you can achieve your optimum feeling.
Shadow RD+ – RD-M615
Chain Stabilization trickles down to Deore with Shadow RD+ technology. The addition of the “+ (Plus)” sign indicates the presence of Shimano’s proprietary chain stabilization system. The Rear Derailleur Stabilization system reduces chain slap and makes the drivetrain more efficient. The system is engaged by flipping the switch to the “On” position. With this, the derailleur cage immediately stiffens up and holds the chain firmly in place. Now a feature that was previously only found on the top end groupsets just a year ago can be bought at a value price.
Ice-Technologies Compatible (Optional)
Deore M610 carries forward with an Ice-Technologies compatible caliper. While it does not come stock, the sandwich structure pads can be replaced aftermarket for the best braking performance.
Using the affordably priced clad rotor SM-RT68 (laminated with steel and aluminum) will further increase the performance of this group.
Same 3×2 Gearing Line-up as XT and SLX
- Dyna-sys Compact Triple 40-30-22T for large 27.5/29 inch wheel (FC-M612)
- Standard 42-32-24T (FC-M610)
- Double: 40-28T/ 38-26T / 38-24T (FC-M615)
These gear combinations will be available so you will be able to pick and choose the most comfortable ratio for you. Different types of bikes will also have recommended combinations.
I-Spec for Deore
An Integrated specification for Deore is a first and brings a professional, minimalistic look to the value for money groupset. Doing without the optical gear display brings about an aesthetic of the professional. Someone who can do without the knowledge of his/her own gear because they know it and can feel it. Do note that Shimano recently modified the I-spec shape, so do check with your local shop on compatibility between older models.
