MANILA, Philippines – Cycling champion Chris Hoy carried the Olympic torch to the center of Manchester on the 36th day of the relay across Great Britain.

The 36-year-old from Scotland is aiming for more glory at London 2012 after winning three gold medals at Beijing in 2008.

This year, Hoy won two golds and a bronze medal at a World Cup event in London and was proud to carry the torch in his adopted city of Manchester.

Eight thousand people will carry the flame during its 8,000-mile, 70-day journey to the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in London on July 27.
