Hundreds of Santas took to the road in flashy fashion.

Cyclists dressed in Santa outfits were spotted in South Bristol and they are officially the first people to use a major new £45m road ahead of its official opening next month. The South Bristol Link Road joins the A370 to the A38 and forms part of the route for the city’s Metrobus scheme.

The cycle path section of the South Bristol Link Road is already open but safety checks are still needed before its official launch in January. The ride started at 11am from the Gatehouse Centre in Bishopsworth, Bristol, and goes for 4.5km into North Somerset. This Travelwest event has been organised by council staff and Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Ltd who are building the South Bristol Link.
