PETALING JAYA: Indonesia SEA Games triple gold medallist cyclist Fatehah Mustapa braved fatigue and jet-lag to finish 11th in the women’s scratch final in the Track World Cup in Cali on Thursday, a performance which virtually guarantees her a ticket to the World Championships in Melbourne next year.

Despite having to endure two days of travelling from her Melbourne training base to reach the Colombian city with stopovers in Los Angeles and Miami, Fatehah managed to nail a place in the 20-rider field for the final through the qualifying heats.

Fatehah was the second top Asian finisher in the 10km distance final, just behind Hong Kong’s professional rider Diao Xiao Juan.
