PETALING JAYA: Some 20 folding bicycle riders took part in the inaugural ‘Car-free’ Day organised by Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad.

They rode 8km from Damansara Perdana to the Kelana Jaya LRT station via inner residential roads to avoid the heavy Saturday morning traffic.

The cyclists then took the train to the Sri Rampai station, accompanied by Prasarana officials.

RapidKL Kelana Jaya Line chief operating officer Ahmad Nizam Mohd Amin said the event was aimed at encouraging LRT users to commute with their folding bicycles to reduce carbon emissions.
