The Federal Territory ministry in tandem with the Cycling Association of Kuala Lumpur will be organising the Kuala Lumpur Criterium – Night Challenge on 2 February 2019 at Dataran Merdeka, in the heart of the city.
This event will be held in conjunction with the Federal Territory (FT) Day celebrations which falls on 1st February. The night criterium has categories to offer everyone of all ages from Men to Women in Open and Elite categories.
YB Tuan Haji Khalid bin Abd Samad, Minister of the Federal Territory, officiated the event and was proud to that the FT day would be celebrated with a unique bicycle race at night, while the age group races would be held in the day time.
Furthermore, a carvinal will be held from morning till night. This will also be the first time that the cycling race will be streamed live on Facebook and Youtube.
Event Director, Emir Abdul Jalal whom heads Motoshoot Media Sdn Bhd, feels that this even would not only attract the Malaysian professional teams such as TSG, Sapura and Forca Amskins, but also aspiring amateur teams. This race would also give the National Sports Council a chance to spot the potential sprinters in this high speed race.
This race will be assisted by the National Sports Council, Kuala Lumpur City Council (DBKL), Royal Police of Malaysia (PDRM), Polis Diraja Malaysia, Malaysia National Cycling Federation and Sports Council of the Federal Territory.
