Again, Ipoh Century Ride is back to wow us. 1,800 registered for the 2012 edition with international riders hailing from Singapore, Australia & New Zealand — marking the largest ever road cycling event held in Malaysia. That very morning, Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir, Menteri Besar of Perak was present to officiate the event and endorse on the Malaysia Book of Records certificate.
The 170km ride flagged off at 7am, and the neighboring small town witness the invasion of smartly clad riders into Batu Gajah, Kuala Kangsar and Chemor. Unlike last year’s route, the 2012 edition features more winding and rolling terrains.
At 45 minutes into the ride, the large peloton began to scatter into smaller packs. For the whopping 170km, we spotted mountain bikers and foldies in action!

And as always, adhering to Ipoh Century Ride’s tradition, there was massive rehydration session right after the finishing line. The day ended on an exciting and liberating note.
Kudos to the KRI Cycling for organizing yet another successful ride! For more information, check out updates on the Official Website at www.centuryridemalaysia.blogspot.com.
