Early October this year, BaikBike was invited to Pattaya for Polygon 2013’s ASEAN New Product Presentation and as expected, Polygon is out to wow us all. This ASEAN NPP is jointly organized by Lerun Industries (Official Distributor in both Malaysia and Singapore) and Piriya Int (Official Distributor in Thailand).
First up, Polygon Cycle.
Yustian Nimara of Polygon Cycle (Indonesia) introduced the 2013 models’ line up including the latest technology on road and mtb technologies.
Polygon is introducing new segments such as Aero Road and Endurance Road to replace its general Road Racing category, the 29er inch mountain bike available in both carbon and alloy frames, SUB (Speed Utility Bike) commuting bike equipped with Gates carbon belt drive for easy maintenance, Classic and Modern city bike (Sierra Deluxe and Zenith series) with its top model equipped with e-battery (e-bike) and last but not least, its 140mm Trail hardtail Cozmic TX series.
Some important technologies acclaimed were, for the 2013 season, Polygon is introducing several new technologies such as the latest Aero carbon road frame, Endurance carbon road frame, both mentioned are Mechanical/Di2 compatible and passed the UCI Protocol for Frames and Forks approval which granted the license to race in UCI-sanctioned races.
Other technologies such as adopting the latest industry standard of Shimano’s derailleur direct mount system, adjustable suspension seat-post system, Fox’s Kashima-coated suspension products, stiffer 12x142mm Rear Thru-axle system and many more other improvements comparing to last year range.
The Collosus downhill and freeride model range from entry to professional rides, come with Shimano SLX or XT groupsets along with RockShox or Fox front suspensions. These bikes were also claimed to be the best configuration (groupset, wheels, frame and suspension) with great affordability.
Yustian also proudly mentioned that Polygon’s product crew is supported and advised by our experienced official team riders – including professional freeride mountain biker’s Sam Reynolds and Yannick Granieri, who have the ability to identify and suggest even the smallest improvements. Both of them deliver important feedback concerning newly developed products. (Sidelining a bit, here is a video of them testing out the bikes!)

Other than just the well thought of configuration, Polygon introduced 2013 to its improved paint job and decals for most Polygon models in effort to take these bikes internationally as they expand to the European market and San Francisco, US.
Next up, Fi’zi:k.
Antonio Gerolimetto, Area Manager of Fi’zi:k, Italy introduces the latest innovations and development of cycling shoes for both man and women.
Ranging at every level, Fi’zi:k cycling shoes are made precisely to do one thing — improving the cyclist performance.
The 2013 cycling shoe models include Road Series R1 UOMO, R3 DONNA/UOMO, R5 DONNA/UOMO and MTB Series M1 UOMO, M5 DONNA/UOMO.
Antonio Gerolimetto moved on to introduce the 2013 models of SR saddles which offers quality ‘gel-type’ saddle for all ranges from junior to pro-cyclist.
The respiro series caters to demanding and pro-cyclist, is developed attentively to improve body dynamics to ride performance while not compromising on comfort.

Towards the end of the presentation, the dealers were taken to the showroom for product reviewing as well as testing, networking and detailed product discussion.
